Abstract:

Results of age and gender composition of Western Siberian urban population’s research are represented in the present article. The purpose of the article is to perform the peculiarities of its transformation in 1960–1980-s at the latest stages of urbanizational transition. It is assigned that in the eastern regions of the country a high share of the youth and a low unit weight of the people above 60 were significant in the age structure due to important role of migration in the local population’s number increase. The previous stages of historical development of the country considerably influenced on the age structure where numerous falls and deep intergender disproportions appeared that were less expressed than in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. Transformation of structural composition of the population during the next 30 years is considered. It is revealed that consequitive ageing was accompannied with the shortening of the intergender disproportions in the male and female number and with the raise of interregional differences in the age composition of urban population.
